Gallery & Bio
Carlotta Romano is an Italian composer and vocalist based in New York City. Her work is shaped by a life lived across Italy, Abu Dhabi, the United Kingdom, and the United States, giving her a unique perspective that blends European traditions, Middle Eastern influences, and contemporary cinematic storytelling.
Passionate about the power of music to deepen narrative and emotional connection, Carlotta creates scores that combine evocative melodies, rich textures, and immersive atmospheres. Drawing from her background as both a composer and performer, she often incorporates elements of voice and violin into her work, bringing a distinctive and personal dimension to the stories she helps tell.
Her credits include Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer (Netflix), Fate of Frankenstein (PBS), Shattered Expectations (College Television Awards finalist), and DOOMSDAY (Columbia Film Festival), among other narrative and documentary projects. She has also worked alongside composer Gil Talmi at Konsonant Music in Brooklyn and was selected for the prestigious 2023–24 Society of Composers & Lyricists Mentorship Program.
Carlotta holds a Master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition: Screen Scoring from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition and Voice from the University of Bristol. With a foundation in classical violin training and a passion for meaningful storytelling, she strives to create music that is emotionally resonant, culturally informed, and deeply connected to the human experience.
